Trapped in my freedom

9/2025 VNITROBLOCK

Brazilian artist Rodrigo Cardoso dos Santos (1987), known as Digo Cardoso, is a self-taught artist who found his most authentic form of expression in urban art. As one of the pioneers of street art in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, he has been participating in exhibitions, projects, and workshops beyond the borders of his home state since 2003.

Digo draws inspiration from the pulse of the streets — from their rhythm, color, and the stories of everyday life. His work is deeply connected to street culture, family, and the essence of daily experience. For him, graffiti is not just a visual language but a way of sharing good energy, bringing a moment of beauty and reflection into the urban flow.

His mural created for Vnitroblock transforms the Prague alley into a vivid and dreamlike landscape. It depicts a girl riding a large blue fish, surrounded by pink blossoms that evoke gentleness, imagination, and growth. The girl bears the Pisces sign — a symbol of sensitivity, depth, and intuition.

The work resonates with an idea the artist expresses in the phrase: “Trapped in my freedom.”

It’s a poetic paradox — freedom as both gift and commitment. When we become aware of its meaning, freedom ceases to be just a right; it becomes a conscious choice. Digo’s mural speaks of movement, imagination, and the courage to live freely — even when freedom itself can feel like a beautiful trap.

Through his art, Digo brings color, optimism, and lightness to Vnitroblock, reminding us that even in the midst of concrete, there’s always space to breathe dreams.
